International education group Education Centre of Australia has partnered with London Metropolitan University in a bid to develop the international reach of the university.
The partnership will see the creation of the ECA International College at the University’s North London campus. The college will offer an International Foundation Programme and a Pre-Masters Programme, initially focusing on international students.
“This is a very exciting new partnership for us. The UK is a new location for us and we see this as a perfect time to be expanding”
ECA already has a number of university partners in Australia, including Victoria University, Swinburne University of Technology, Charles Sturt University and University of Canberra.
It is hoped that London Met will benefit from ECA’s international student recruitment capabilities as well as its “expertise in overall campus management solutions”.
“This is a very exciting new partnership for us. The UK is a new location for us and we see this as a perfect time to be expanding our geographic footprint,” said Gavin Dowling, ECA chief operating officer.
“London Met University is a great partner to be working with and we are sure that there will be more announcements on the partnership shortly.”
As part of the partnership ECA students will have access to London Met’s “world leading teaching and state-of-the-art facilities”.
The partnership will shortly also extend to include online delivery of some of London Met’s postgraduate courses as well as exploring possible transnational education opportunities in other parts of the world.
“The university is delighted and excited to be entering into a wide and varied partnership with ECA,” said Gary Davies, pro vice-chancellor for student recruitment and business development at the institution.
“As London Met re-engages with the international student market, we are pleased to be doing it with a company that has such an impact in Australia and also shares our values.
“As one of the most diverse universities in the country, in one of the world’s leading cities, the ECA International College students will find a dynamic and welcoming community and benefit from our world-class facilities,” he added.
