Education consultancy Dukes Education has acquired a sixth form college in Cardiff, it has announced.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed amount, will see Cardiff Sixth Form College become Dukes Education’s fourth A-level teaching institution in its portfolio.
Dukes Education has already been working with the institution to deliver educational guidance and support, and help students “gain places at the world’s most prestigious universities since 2010,” said Gareth Collier, the institution’s principal.
“Going forward, we will be investing in the facilities and the excellent teaching staff”
“Both organisations focus on providing the best possible outcomes for all students, supporting their families – many of whom are overseas – in the process,” he said.
Cardiff Sixth Form College currently enrols 300 students from 30 countries around the world. The school also boasts a record of 99% of its students achieving grades A*-B.
The college will continue with “business as usual” following the acquisition, said Glenn Hawkins, managing director of Dukes Education.
“Going forward, we will be investing in the facilities and the excellent teaching staff, who will be supported by Dukes Education and its consultants and tutors, 85% of whom are Oxbridge-educated,” he said.
“We have also been awarded Independent School status, making us one of the top independent schools in the UK.”
Cardiff sixth form college joins Dukes Education’s portfolio of three other GCSE and A-Level teaching institutions in London and the southeast: Fine Arts College in Hampstead, north London; Acorn House College in west London and Rochester Independent College in Kent.
In addition to its consultancy arm, which works with around 400 schools a year to provide preparation programs for university, Dukes Education also runs summer schools at boarding schools across the UK.
