Educators and agents have praised the business networking opportunities at English UK’s latest fair, held at the elegant InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort & Spain, Panama. 80 delegates from across Latin America attended from April 24-27, enjoying a programme of social events, one-to-one appointments and seminars—including a Q&A with Jennifer Manuel from the International Group at the UK Border Agency.
Steven A’Barrow from Harrow House International College said the fair was “simply the best event of its kind and the best way to establish quality contacts in the region. You can’t fail to do business at these fairs.”
Other seminars provided educators with intelligence on the Panama, Colombia and Venezuela markets. A parallel programme for agents included presentations from English UK, the British Council and Study UK.
The fair was also one of English UK’s most luxurious, with delegates enjoying an evening tour of the Miraflores Locks at the Panama Canal and a gala dinner at the Convento de las Monjas – the site of the oldest European settlement on the Pacific coast.
Peter Niklewicz from INTO University Partnerships said, “[The fair was] a well organised, enjoyable and potentially very useful event. Definitely the friendly one.”
The next English UK Fair for Latin America will be held in Lima May 7-10, 2013.
