The company says the expansion is part of a wider plan to increase access to the high-level test since it was recognised by Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) and the UK Border Agency (UKBA) for student visas. The new exam centres – located across North, East, Central and South China – will offer the paper-based and computer-based version of the test.
Speaking at the 9th Shanghai Annual Conference on Studying Abroad, Cambridge ESOL’s Sujata Stead said, “Following recognition of Cambridge English: Advanced by the UKBA and DIAC, we have significantly boosted opportunities to take the test in China. The new test centres means more people in China are able to take this high level, high quality exam for studying abroad”.
Cambridge English: Advanced is now accepted by over 3,000 organisations in 76 countries worldwide and this figure continues to grow. Organisations that accept the test include the majority of universities in Australia and the UK and some of the top universities and colleges in Canada.
CAE is widely available up to 33 times a year in over 1,300 centres across 113 countries and the new test centres in China will boost this network further.
