The Business Schools Association of Canada (formerly known as the Canadian Federation of Business School Deans) has launched a new online portal for international and domestic students to access information about studying business in the country.
Currently hosting the details of 61 different schools, as well as information about life in Canada, housing and visas, the Study Business in Canada site aims to enable more students to study at its member institutions.
“Our business school community is remarkably diverse”
According to CBIE, 642,480 international students studied in the country in 2019, representing a 185% increase since 2010. A recent report from Statistics Canada further found that in 2017/18, international students accounted for 14.7% of total university and 13.2% of college enrolments.
This number further rises in business, management and public administration courses, where international students make up 17.7% of the student body at universities and 25.6% at colleges.
“Our objectives for the initiative are quite simple: to raise the awareness of Canada and Canadian university business schools as a preferred study destination for business and management education,” explained Tim Daus, executive director of the Association.
“Canada is a welcoming country with an outstanding higher education system, a high quality of life and a very multicultural population. Our business school community is remarkably diverse, each with their own story to tell,” he continued.
“We strongly believe that our schools are all excellent choices. Each student and school are unique – it is a matter of finding the best fit.”
