The most recent China International Education Exhibition Tour staged in various cities in China attracted tens of thousands of Chinese students interested in studying abroad, and was a great platform for BOSSA, the Beijing-based agency association that is pursuing an exciting development agenda that includes the formation of a nationwide alliance, COSSA.
Keith Bartlett, International Educational Operations Manager at BOSSA, told The PIE News that during the event in Beijing, 70% of visitors surveyed indicated they would choose to consult one of BOSSA’s member agencies for their study abroad plans.
BOSSA also built new alliances with international partners, such as the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, reported Bartlett, one of the delegations interested in the Blue Book, an annual Chinese statistical summary of the outbound student market that the association is producing. “They will also bring a delegation of universities from Penn State to visit China early next year,” reported Bartlett.
Hundreds of education institutions exhibited at the events, particularly the Beijing and Shanghai-based dates, with particularly strong delegations from the UK, USA, New Zealand, France, Canada and Australia as well as a high number of China-based organisations.
BOSSA, which had strong branding at the Beijing event, strives to “bridge domestic and international institutions on all levels of education for the benefit of students who travel around the world to pursue quality education opportunities and cultural experiences”.
The Ministry of Education supports CIEET, which is organised by China Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE). The Beijing leg of the tour also included a seminar-based China Study Abroad Forum.
