An award-winning English language school situated on the west coast of Ireland in Galway is taking its brand to Ireland’s capital city, Dublin, taking heed of its students’ suggestions to open a second centre to the capital.
Opening in February 2013, Atlantic Language Dublin will be a sister school to Atlantic Language Galway, catering for up to 270 students.
The move east means that the Atlantic Language brand can offer two destinations and a chance for students to sample both Irish cities. John Daly, Managing Director of the school, explained, “We’d like to expand the Atlantic Language brand by offering the two-city approach which will accommodate students who wish to experience studying and living in two wonderful Irish cities. As all bookings will be centralised, students can now simply book one school and two cities.”
Ireland is positioning itself to build its international student market and English language programming is a pathway into the lucrative HE export market that Ireland is keen on as well as an alternative to the UK with part-time work rights a possibility for students studying for more than 26 weeks.
Daly said that 2012 was a “surprisingly good year, especially for groups”. Ireland has traditionally relied on its Western European neighbours for student intake and Daly did acknowledge that with Spain and Italy suffering, it was hard to predict 2013 enrolments. However, he said he was “cautiously optimistic”.
