Agents from around the globe recently attended the first ever fam trip for the ELC group of language schools in the UK earlier this year. The group was formed last year by TUI‘s Education division, when it acquired ELC in York and grouped its four language schools under the ELC brand to gain more traction with agents.

“The week was a great success, with our guests labelling it a ‘fun trip’ rather than a fam trip,” said ELC Group business development manager, Duanes Santos. “The agents were invited to join us mainly because they used to know some of the schools individually but wanted to know us as the ELC group.”

“That was my first time in the UK,” said Irina Mikhailova, an agent at Business Link in Ukraine. “Travelling by bus was fun and in each city there was something to remember. My favourite part was whisky tasting in Edinburgh. Although I did not drink, the smell was fantastic!”

Fourteen agents from Angola, Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, Oman, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Ukraine took part in the trip, visiting facilities, student residences and popular city attractions.

The ELC group includes the Hampstead School of English, Manchester Academy of English, ELC York and EAC Edinburgh, all of which now operate under the ELC brand.

Kevin McNally, Marketing Director, said: “The four, year-round English language schools have merged to offer the best possible language learning experience which, going forward, will all operate under the new ELC (English Language Centres) umbrella.

“The schools individually will be known as ELC London Hampstead School of English, ELC Manchester Academy of English, ELC York and ELC Edinburgh.”
