ICEF’s Canada Course for Education Agents saw its 1,000th agent graduate earlier in December. Imran Baig Mirza of ILM Advice, based in Sydney Australia successfully completed the course, which supports the professional development of agents wishing to specialise in the country as a major study destination.
“We are proud to mark this milestone of 1 000 course graduates from the CCEA,” said Tiffany Egler, ICEF’s director of Agent Relations.
“We see agents as essential to growing global student mobility”
“Education agents play an important role in counselling and referring students to education providers around the world.”
She added that the growth for this kind of training is showing what a demand there is to support the industry and education destination markets.
“We see agents as essential to growing global student mobility and look forward to welcoming more agents from around the world as they develop their expertise in our programs,” said Egler.
ICEF offers five agent training courses in total – two ‘professional courses’, the ICEF Agent Training Course and the China Education Agent Course, and three ‘destination courses’.
Alongside the Canada Course for Education Agents, ICEF also offers the US Agent Training Course and the Irish Education Agents Course. More than 280 agents have graduated the US course and 150 have graduated the Irish speciality course.
There are more than 1,470 graduates of the ICEF Agent Training Course, while 16,240 agents are currently training.
The CCEA is jointly owned by ICEF, Languages Canada, and the Canadian Association of Public Schools International, with the support of the Canadian Consortium for International Education.
All course graduates are listed on the Qualified Education Agents app produced by ICEF and PIER. The app currently contains information for more than 11,270 qualified agents worldwide.
