The Global Tech Program aims develop global career-ready skillsets

The 10-week UT Global Tech Program seeks to give undergraduate students access to “high-growth” careers in a global context using data analytics, digital marketing and web development skills plus intercultural competency.

The Global Tech Program will enable University of Tennessee students from all backgrounds to develop global career-ready skillsets while collaborating with students from across the globe, the partners said.

Skills the digital program aims to teach include data analytics in Excel and Tableau, product launch and marketing using Shopify or website and app creation for users around the world using JavaScript.

“This innovative partnership with Podium Education allows UT to expand and diversify its portfolio to provide a global education to all students regardless of background or ability to travel,” said the institution’s interim director of the Programs Abroad Office Anne Hulse.

“Students need to learn both the technical and intercultural skills to thrive in our modern workforce”

Students will earn credit while at the same time enhance their resume by tackling real-world projects from top global companies like Netflix, Spotify, Airbnb and Shopify.

“This is a revolutionary moment for global education. Students need to learn both the technical and intercultural skills to thrive in our modern workforce,” added Podium’s president of University Partnerships, Chris Parrish.

“We are thrilled to partner with the University of Tennessee on the Global Tech Programs to help students around the world build this unique skillset.”
