The school has further internationalisation plans on the horizon

The school, which currently has five campuses across London as well as the UK College of English, also in central London, is aiming to target what its chief executive said is one of the key global education markets.

“Our new Dubai teaching centre opens up great opportunities for UKCE, not only to support those taking HE qualifications, but to run English Language programmes for a wider market, in this, one of the world’s great education hubs,” Neil Harvey, chief executive of the language training arm of UKCBC; UKCE, said in a statement.

“This is the first step in our broader strategic plan”

The new campus will be located in the Dubai International Academic City, which describes itself as “The world’s largest free zone dedicated to higher education and the pursuit of intellectual growth”.

It will initially deliver UK BTEC qualifications in business management; computing; travel and tourism; and health & social care, before expanding into “further developments”.

“We will start with programmes at level 5 and then look to add further programmes as the centre develops. This is the first step in our broader strategic plan to give true global access to quality education at value for money prices,” the school’s director of finance and operations, Bhargav Busa said.

These courses will be provided by Pearson.

The school aims to reach its capacity of around 500 students within its first two years.

Neil Harvey added that the expansion is a great opportunity for expansion of the language courses, alongside the HE courses offered by the school.

“Our new Dubai teaching centre opens up great opportunities for UKCE, not only to support those taking HE qualifications, but to run English Language programmes for a wider market, in this, one of the world’s great education hubs.”

Harvey told The PIE News that this new campus is a first step for UKCBC and UKCE, and the school does have further internationalisation plans on the horizon.
