iQ Student Accommodation & Londonist partner

Student accommodation agency Londonist has announced a partnership with housing provider iQ Student Accommodation. The agreement will see the platform showcase 13 of iQ’s London residences in a bid to further strengthen and diversify Londonist’s portfolio.

The agency now has over 33 residences in the UK capital

The agency now has over 33 residences in the UK capital, in addition to also offering housing opportunities in Dublin, Ireland.

“iQ’s residences are safe welcoming homes with great student environments, attaining to students’ needs and wants, assisting in making these years the best for students,” Londonist said in a statement.

“Londonist feels that iQ Student Accommodation matches its values of flexibility, integrity, safety and comfort, and gives even more choice to Londonist clients and partners.”

The partnership has “vast potential and will assist many prospective clients”, the agency added.

In the past decade, iQ Student Accommodation has provided accommodation to more than 28,000 students in 67 sites across 27 UK cities. Private investment management company Blackstone acquired the accommodation provider in February in a reported £4.7bn deal.

Earlier in 2020, accommodation operator GoBritanya announced a strategic partnership with Turkish recruitment fair company a2 Fairs to “provide outstanding and continuous improvement”.

Elsewhere, as the global pandemic unfolded international students were being charged rent for belongings left in their accommodation at some UK institutions after they had returned to their home countries.

Beyond the UK, the pandemic created unprecedented woes for students, with some fearing homelessness according to student representatives.
