Named Khalifa University International Graduate Student Program, the new scheme is now open for applications for students from all over the world who graduated from top programs in the STEM fields, with admission from fall 2019.

“We hope that through KUIGSP…more students worldwide will be able to make the most of the academic opportunities that the UAE and Abu Dhabi offer”

“This scholarship represents a unique opportunity for talented students in the STEM fields to earn their master’s degree or PhD at a dynamic new institution in the cosmopolitan city of Abu Dhabi,” Jamal Alsayyed, KUIGSP Director, told The PIE News.

The students selected for the program will receive a comprehensive scholarship which will cover the tuition and fees to cover airline tickets, health insurance and a monthly stipend.

No limits in the number of scholarships have currently been ascribed to the program as yet.

In administering the program, IIE will support KU in attracting international students, advancing its global recognition in research and education excellence and building its internationalisation capacity, while fostering the employability of its graduates.

“We hope that through KUIGSP, more US students and students worldwide will be able to make the most of the academic opportunities that the UAE and Abu Dhabi offer,” Alsayyed explained.

“The United Arab Emirates was the third most popular study abroad destination [in MENA] among U.S. students in 2016/17 according to the Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange.”

KU was founded in 2017 as a merger of Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, the Petroleum Institute University and Research Center, and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MI).

It offers 13 master’s degree and 12 PhD programs and hosts students from more than 50 countries.
