IELS Malta acquires Magister Academy

Magister Academy has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment to modernise its premises.

"With new management on board, we can guarantee high quality service and an excellent value for money"

Magister Academy, which is located in the popular seaside tourist resort of St Julian’s, has been providing ELT for more than 20 years, and has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment to modernise its premises, including new residential accommodation on the upper floors of the school.

“This was a calculated strategic decision which was driven by market demand and the will to expand our business further”

The school will continue to operate under its existing brand name but from now on will focus on adult learning, having previously catered to both young learners and adults.

“We decided to change direction and focus on the adult market and offer a different product from IELS,” commented Alex Lanczet, General Manager of IELS and Magister Academy.

Speaking to The PIE News about the decision to expand, Lanczet said: “This was a calculated strategic decision which was driven by market demand and the will to expand our business further. Magister Academy suited our needs in terms of location and size.”

“We are always looking for ways of improving our product and grow our business further and are always open to hear of new opportunities for growth,” he added.

Founded in 1985, IELS Malta underwent its own €3m upgrade of its main school in June last year. Along with Magister the school welcomes over 10,000 students a year.

“Our school is the perfect choice for students who wish to learn English in a centrally located boutique school, combining classes and accommodation under one roof,” Lanczet said in a statement. “With new management on board, we can guarantee high quality service and an excellent value for money.”
