The agency, which won the Education Agency of the year category at the 2017 PIEoneer awards, has played an important role in the recruitment of Indian students over the years.

Global Reach has been a member of AAERI since the body was launched by the Australian High Commission in 1996 and the agency’s MD Ravi Lochan Singh is the association’s current president. 

“Thirty years ago in distant Australia, when three friends who had just completed their graduation met over a cup of coffee, they shared their thoughts and experience of taking up overseas studies,” Global Reach said in a statement. 

“The trio agreed that the most difficult part of their journey was to collect information related to studying abroad. I had just returned from USA after representing Bond University at the International MOOT CORP competition for entrepreneurs and was bubbling with excitement,” Lochan Singh said.

“This was because while interacting with other participants, [the founders] had the brain wave of setting up something which would fill up the gap that existed between information and students wanting to study overseas.”

The organisation has since worked with educational institutions from around 18 countries and has been contracted to represent all Australian and New Zealand institutions, and several highly ranked institutions across US, Canada, UK, Europe, Middle East, and South East Asia.

Earlier this month, Global Reach held a celebration at DLF Galleria in Newtown, Kolkata to mark the anniversary. It also announced the launch of its Exclusive PlanStudyAbroad centre at DLF Galleria in New Town. 

Australian consul-general Rowan Ainsworth, deputy consul general Daniel Sim, director of British Council East Debanjan Chakrabarti and Arjun Kumar Dutta, trade commissioner from the Trade Office of Canada were the guests of honour at the event.
