This comes after CEG’s acquisition of iheed earlier in 2021. The company said the announcement indicates a strengthened tie with Ireland and marking a further advancement as one of the world-leading medical and healthcare education providers.

As a leading university partner in Ireland, Castel Education addresses the growing demand for healthcare education and training pathways around the world. Castel provides wide-ranging pathway programs including Pharmacy, Podiatric Medicine,  and Occupational Therapy for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Castel who have a significant track-record of innovative program development and strategic partnerships with a number of leading Irish institutions,” David Johnston, co-CEO of Cambridge Education Group added.

“With a projected estimated global shortfall of 9.9 million doctors, nurses and healthcare workers by 2030, and some 57 developing countries facing a lack of medical professionals to meet minimum needs, the benefits of developing and delivering world-leading medical education online and on campus are compelling.”

At undergraduate level, Castel Education has developed the International Medical Commencement Programme together with Irish higher education institutions partners including the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Munster Technological University , and the National University of Ireland Galway.

This has benefited students enrolled in several healthcare degrees such as Pharmacy, Paramedic Studies, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing.

At postgraduate level, Castel Education offers support for International Residency and Fellowship training programs. It collaborates with all of the Irish Postgraduate Medical Training bodies including the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, College of Anaesthetists of Ireland, Irish College of General Practitioners and the Irish College of Ophthalmologists.
