ACS Int’l Schools opens revamped Doha campus

ACS International Schools has unveiled its new Doha campus to house its existing student community in Qatar.

The campus in Al Kheesa, Qatar, accommodates almost 2,500 students aged three to 18 and features “state-of-the-art” sports facilities, science laboratories, libraries and purpose-designed art and performance arts studios.

“The new ACS Doha campus embodies the spirit of learning and I know our community will embrace the outstanding facilities at the new school,” said Robert Cody, head of School at ACS Doha.

“The inspiring atmosphere and additional facilities created by our new physical environment are designed to cater to our students’ various talents and creative outlets, to promote their academic growth. It has enabled us to add even more choices and options to our curriculum for students.”

The school in Doha, operating since 2011, is one of ACS’s four campuses – the remaining three located in Greater London in the UK.

“Since we opened nine years ago, ACS Doha has distinguished itself by delivering a rigorous academic education that respects the diversity of its student body, and the individuality of learning styles,” Tim Cagney, chief executive of ACS International Schools noted.

“The move to our landmark new campus enables us to realise our vision and the future of education in Qatar.

“By creating environments that are innovative and nurturing, we can help our students as curious and confident learners to pursue their dreams, and get ready for what comes next.”

Cagney also thanked sponsor, Al Jaber Group, for its “commitment and unwavering support to this ambitious project”.

ACS International School’s school in Surrey, UK, was recognised at ISC Research’s 2020 International School Awards, winning the Digital Technology in Learning Award.

ACS Doha offers all International Baccalaureate programs and is the only school in the country to offer both College Board’s Advanced Placement program and the IB Career-Related program.

ACS International School Cobham’s head of School Barnaby Sandow recently wrote for The PIE about the need for British schools to “throw off the shackles of standardised testing”.
