TOCA, US. Miriam Piña has joined Teens of Color Abroad (TOCA) as the organisation’s new director of global programs. Before this role, Miriam has been a French and Spanish Teacher for the past fifteen years and has worked as director of global studies for independent schools for the past seven. Miriam’s new position involves supporting current programs to France and Spain, developing new partnerships and assuring that all aspects of our programs from student recruitment to risk management, run smoothly. Her greatest motivation is for TOCA students to have the opportunity to broaden their horizons, acquire global competencies, and expand in ways they did not think possible. Miriam said: “I joined TOCA because I am committed to social justice and experiential education and truly believe that one can deepen their understanding of the self and discover one’s purpose by taking on the challenge of learning a different language. TOCA is bridging the gap and directly tackling the education and opportunity disparities that affect our communities.”
