University of Leicester, UK. Martyn Edwards has recently started as executive director of international at the University of Leicester, moving from his position of director of external relations. This is a newly created role reporting directly to the vice-chancellor, as a member of the University Executive Board, and is tasked with leading on the University’s new internationalisation strategy. Martyn said: “I am delighted to be offered this position, having started my career in international 25 years ago it feels like I have come full circle. It’s a challenging time for the UK sector but also one of opportunity as overseas governments take a more strategic approach to international partnerships and TNE.”
