Independent Higher Education, UK. Andy Howells has recently been appointed the new co-chair of Independent Higher Education’s International Education Network. This role will complement Andy’s permanent position as chief marketing officer at NCUK, a leading global pathway provider. He joined NCUK in November 2023, having previously held senior marketing and communications posts at Universities UK International, the University of Southampton and Royal Holloway, University of London. Andy has worked in the sector for more than 15 years, leading his teams to multiple awards wins for marketing, campaign and events projects, including a PR Week Global award, PIEonner awards and a CIPR Excellence Award. His claim to fame is delivering his second child, in his car, in a supermarket car park during Covid lockdowns! Upon taking on the position of co-chair, Andy said: “Collaboration is vital for our sector, especially at challenging times, and I look forward to working with all across IHE’s staff and membership base.”
