Our editorial policy

The PIE News is an independent, business-to-business news organisation focused on the international education sector.

Our mission is to help unite an industry we are proud to be part of, improve the experiences of international students and encourage more people to engage in an internationally-minded education or overseas short-term study experience.

Our editorial team follows rules set out in the Editors’ Code of Practice and we strive to be fair, accurate and impartial in our news coverage.

As a voice for the sector, we seek to represent all aspects, opinions and viewpoints of the entire industry including recruitment agents and counsellors, higher education institutions, language providers and more.

Our business model is based on delivering events for our global readership; consultancy including executive recruitment and insights; and advertising and these services enable us to deliver free-to-read news with a historically rich archive.

We are not paid for any news coverage and sponsored articles are clearly marked. Our editorial team decides together which stories we run and what we think our readers will value most. We always have international students front of mind when we consider our editorial output.

If you are interested in writing a 500-800 word op-ed please get in touch to suggest your topic. Please note we can not accept all suggestions.

We will edit any contributions to meet our editorial style but will ensure that you have final approval before publication on the site.
