Alex Lock and Mike Strong

Alex Lock is head of immigration compliance at Anglia Ruskin University, overseeing immigration compliance for staff and students. With more than 10 years’ experience in student visa compliance, his portfolio has now expanded to regulatory governance matters outside of the traditional student visa sphere. He co-chairs the UCISA Immigration Community of Practice and the Immigration Compliance Network. Mike Strong is associate director (risk, resilience & assurance) at Birmingham Newman University. A former head of visa compliance and advice, he has nearly two decades’ experience across admissions, immigration compliance and governance gained at five universities. He also serves on the executive of the Immigration Compliance Network.
