The business, which was acquired by private equity firm Inspirit Capital in May, has now moved ahead with its rebrand under the Positively Languages moniker, built around the principle that “experience moves you forward”.
The rebrand is intended to underpin the group’s future growth, with a focus on experience-led products and schools in major cultural destinations.
The new Malta school, Positively Languages Malta, is located in St Julian’s and operates from a site formerly occupied by English language provider EC Group. With more than 25 classrooms, it is set to be one of the largest language schools on the island.
It follows the shock closure of EC English Language Centres last month, with students from its 25 language schools around the world suddenly displaced.
Students previously studying at the site have been offered places at the new school, which adds Malta to the group’s international network of language learning destinations.
Meanwhile, the group has opened additional premises in London at 4 Bloomsbury Place, next door to its existing school at number 5. The new site has eight classrooms, bringing the combined capacity across the two premises to 15 classrooms, as the provider looks to meet demand for English language courses in the capital.
William Wellesley, executive chair of Positively Languages, said the launches came at an “exciting time” for the newly formed group.
“Our ambition is to bring together world-class education, memorable destinations and experiences that move people forward,” he said.
Positively Languages offers English, French and German courses for learners of all ages across an international network of schools. The business, previously known as Kaplan International Languages, said it was building on more than 20 years of experience in language education.
