The British International University in Erbil will offer University of London degree programs when it opens in September 2023.

Leading MOOC platform Coursera has announced it will begin charging students to submit assignments for grading in certain courses, in its latest move to generate revenue from the thousands of free online courses supported by the platform and created by 120 top universities.

The University of London has published comprehensive data on its Massive Open Online Courses. Almost 9,000 students completed one of the four courses launched over the summer and the university has confirmed that so far 45 students have signed up for fee-paying degrees as a result.

A symposium of higher education institutions and agencies from Britain and Myanmar – including British Council, the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and the Quality Assurance Agency – met in the city of Yangon, Myanmar earlier this week to discuss ways of building academic partnerships between both countries.
