Scottish push to highlight soft power value

International students add “immeasurable cultural and social value” to Scotland, according to a new report from Universities Scotland, Richer for It, which was produced and released this week. The report will be taken to Westminster to highlight the non-financial value of international education.

MOU between Scottish and Korean universities

Universities in Scotland and South Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding to foster closer academic ties. The agreement between Universities Scotland and the Korean Council for University Education could lead to collaboration over student mobility, dual degrees and joint research.

Future fees for EU students at Scottish unis

Non-UK European students could be charged full fees at Scottish universities while local students are reimbursed, under plans to keep HE free for Scots. Scotland says it is losing £75 million a year due to an EU law which states member countries must charge students from elsewhere in the EU the same fees they charge to domicile students.
