Cameron expands Science Without Borders, UK

UK prime minister, David Cameron, has expanded Brazil’s Science without Borders scholarship programme in the UK to include pre-sessional English courses, following reports students were being turned away after failing English entry tests. Along with additional PhD funding the courses will be worth an extra £20 million to the UK.

IIE mission to Brazil forges opportunity

Eighteen educators from US institutions had the opportunity to meet with potential partner campuses in Brazil last month as the culmination of the IIE's International Academic Partnership Programme (IAPP). Delegates insist closer relations will now foster greater opportunity, with institutions mindful that language programmes are an integral bridge to greater academic exchange.
