Wealthy international parents purchased around £2 billion worth of London property in the past year, in order to secure accommodation for their children attending private schools and universities in the British capital.
The world's super-rich have jumped 42% in the last decade, and they are looking overseas to educate their children, according to Knight Frank's Wealth Report.
Average students rents are expected to rise by up to 3% in London and 2.75% in the UK's regions in the next 12 months, the property developer Knight Frank has claimed. Driving the trend is a combination of high demand, including from international students, and a shortfall of places in halls which is pushing up rents.
