How integral are guardianship firms in the high school market?

Guardianship companies are an interesting facet of the industry, specialising in safeguarding children studying abroad, notably those boarding or living long-term overseas. But there is little government control in this sector, and some stakeholders cite concerns around the "neutral" status of guardians working too closely with a particular school. Chinese enrolments soar at UK independent schools

The number of K-12 students coming to the Britain's independent schools from mainland China has soared in the last year, overtaking the traditionally strong cohort of Hong Kong students. "Market penetration in Hong Kong is very high; whereas in China, this is just the beginning," commented an adviser.

China helping fuel global high school market

New data from the UK's ISC reveals further growth in international students at independent schools, with students from China and Hong Kong accounting for almost 40% of overseas intake. Research from China also indicates a boom in demand for high school education overseas. Meanwhile the first China-US high school in Shanghai has been announced.
