Four new affiliate schools in Italy have joined International House World Organisation, it has been announced, bringing the total number of its institutions in the country to 16.

Australia-based Holmes Education Group has acquired two English language schools in the US expanding its ELT division, Oxford House College, to 15 locations in four countries. The group has also acquired CELTA and DELTA teacher training giant, Teaching House, also based out of Boston.

The annual ELTons, a ceremony created and hosted by the British Council to celebrate innovation in the design and delivery of English language teaching, once again put the ELT industry on a world stage this week; helped by a live feed so that viewers around the world could also watch the ceremony.

Toronto-based Sol Schools International has cut its affiliation with International House World Organisation (IHWO) in order to push through plans to expand in Vancouver, Canada.
