GoAbroad.com award winners announced

The fourth annual GoAbroad.com Innovation Awards took place in San Diego during NAFSA's annual conference. Delegates gathered to recognise the winners of 10 awards celebrating innovative approaches to work and study abroad. STA Travel sponsored a new category, "Start the Adventure", offering a $1000 cash prize for both the winner and their institution.

GoAbroad.com leads aid mission from its Tacloban HQ

A US study abroad company with offices in Tacloban, the Philippines, is coordinating direct on-the-ground relief in the wake of the strongest tropical cyclone ever to make landfall, Typhoon Haiyan. GoAbroad.com founder, Troy Peden, has been helping people leave the area and bring in food and medical supplies.

20,000 vote for GoAbroad.com awards

More than 20,000 voters helped decide this year's GoAbroad.com's People's Choice Awards last month, which recognise excellence and innovation in the US study abroad sector. Winners included US-based International Studies Abroad and the University of South Carolina among others.

“Crowdfunding” site launched for study abroad

Developers from GoAbroad.com, one of the leading international education and experiential travel resources in the US, have launched a fundraising site to help students raise money for courses abroad. FundMyTravel allows students to start a campaign on the site and then share it with family and friends who can make donations.
