Germany’s study travel sector maintained its performance of previous years with bookings declining by only 1.29%, according to agency association FDSV. But, agents reported a rise in later bookings because of security concerns.
The Eurocrisis hasn't affected Germany's outbound student market as 2013 figures from the German agency association, FDSV, show that student weeks increased, lead by strong demand for English courses in the junior market. The UK continues to dominate destination choice but has lost market share to English speaking competitors including Malta and the USA the association reports.
Both the UK and Germany are calling on the creative photography skills of international students to promote study opportunities in competitions with prizes worth £250 and €500 respectively. FDSV in Germany and the British Council in the UK are behind the promotions.
