EF has made its online English language school, EF Efekta, smartphone friendly by turning the platform into an app that will allow learners to access content on the go.

After 50 years operating in international education, mega-education company EF celebrated in style by breaking the Guinness World Record for the “most nationalities in an online video album of people performing a choreographed dance”.

Education company EF has identified overlaps between the countries topping its English Proficiency Index and the Global Innovative Index. It has produced a policy paper outlining short and long-term strategies both industry and government should implement to create healthy economies.

EF has been named as the Official Supplier for language training in Brazil ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The endorsement means EF will be providing training for over one million people.

EF – one of the world's largest private language training providers – has announced its online language school is now available as an Android App allowing students instant mobile access to its cloud-based online school, Efekta 13. Students will have access to teacher-led private and group classes 24 hours a day.

Peace building and conflict resolution were the centre of a unique summer programme jointly hosted by education giant EF and the United Nations Alliance of Civiliations (UNAOC) last month. One hundred youth from 92 countries convened for a week of roundtable discussions, workshops and direct mentorship from UNAOC and EF officials.

The ELT giant Education First (EF) is to run its first summer school with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) this August, dedicated to improving international cooperation and combatting extremism. 100 young people from around the world will attend with the aim of building skills and knowledge "to collaborate across borders".

Competitors try to speed it up expansion and buy schools already up and running with very different company cultures and they try to integrate them into their own group of schools. That is not the way we believe to be the best and most efficient.
