Irish PM honours international students

Ireland's prime minister Enda Kenny last week honoured international students participating in the government's Student Ambassador programme which aims to use promote Ireland as a study destination to priority markets and recipients of the Government of Ireland Scholarships.

Irish HE forges ties with India on 60-strong mission

Irish Minister for Education and Skills, Ciaran Cannon, promoted the country last week in India as a destination for postgraduate studies focused on business, IT, technology and engineering. His visit was part of the country's largest mission to the fruitful study abroad market, which also featured star Irish cricketer, Kevin O'Brien.

Ireland: more scholarships for ELT teachers

A scholarship scheme for English teachers from outside the EU to study in Ireland has been expanded to include China and Russia, The PIE News learned at this week's MEI workshop, Galway. The scheme hopes to promote Ireland as an ELT destination via the teachers.
