Australia closes four education posts in Asia

Just a week after international education in Australia got a vote of confidence from the Chaney report, including cultivating closer links with regional educational hubs in Asia, the Australian government has announced it will close four education counsellor posts provided by AEI in Asia. The Executive Director of IEAA condemned the move when educators are trying to engage more with Asian partners.

Australia: ELICOS boon amid declining numbers

International student enrollments in Australia continued to fall for the fourth year in a row in every sector except English language teaching, according to the latest end-of-year statistics from the Australian government (AEI). The top five markets remained the same despite a 24.5% fall in enrollments to 53,396 from India.
