The president of education agent association BELTA Maura Leão welcomed the news, explaining that the visa-free travel agreement will facilitate students who choose the UAE for short-term English courses.

She added that the increasingly popularity of the UAE with Brazilian students in part of a trend that will see new study destinations emerge.

“The United Arab Emirates was the 18^th study destination for Brazilian students according to the BELTA market research for 2017. It is the first time UAE  appeared in the annual survey,” she told The PIE News.

“We believe that the agreement for visa-free travel for Brazilians into UAE will facilitate the decision for students seeking a short-term program in the UAE, as the country has emerged as an interesting destination for English courses.

“Brazilians are seeking for new destinations and the UAE brings both the educational side and different tourism options, along with reasonable flight offers. These unusual destinations will soon become a trend, which we think is great news.”

Assistant undersecretary for consular affairs at UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed Elham Al Dhaheri, said in a statement that the agreement will open up opportunities for tourist, travel and investment exchanges.

“The Brazilian government’s initiative reaffirms the prestigious international stature boasted by the UAE and opens up new prospects for tourist, travel and investment exchanges between the two countries,” he said.

The visa-waiver agreement with Brazil means UAE nationals can now travel visa free to 151 nations.
