Platform links students with creative schools

A new tech-enabled agency platform has been launched globally, allowing students to connect with creative arts and digital media institutions across destinations including Australia, Canada, the UK, the US and New Zealand.

The platform aims to help students select their ideal course by providing a platform where they can explore creative work from students across different institutions.

It will be unique in counselling students only about targeted creative arts education

Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Mozaik Play has already partnered with more than 65 institutions and has a network of 14 global offices across three continents.

It will be unique in counselling students only about targeted creative arts education such as film-making and animation.

“The best way to show that a school is great is through the work of students”

CEO Gabriel Providel, who previously held roles with Redhill Education and Navitas, said the edtech platform has a solid pipeline of students coming from different regions.

Speaking about the launch, Providel said the platform has been well received by schools, service providers and agencies.

“It looks like there is a real need to offer something niche and different,” he explained.

“We have seen [a positive] reaction across the tour we are doing around Europe and North America visiting incredible schools, many of which have never worked with agencies because they found their services to be too broad and not focused, or they simply didn’t need them.”

A key part of the Mozaik’s success, he said, stems from its partnership with The Rookies, a student community platform that operates in the digital media space,” Providel told The PIE News.

“For me, in the creative industries or the creative space, the best way to show that a school is great is through the work of students, through the quality of teachers and their job outcomes.

“We’ve looked at nine creative sectors, and one of those is digital media. Arguably the largest student community platform in the world for students is called The Rookies.

“They have about 510 schools where students from around the world upload incredible portfolios – you could never differentiate the profiles of students from creative professionals,” he added.

Mozaik Play is currently helping The Rookies with their student placements, while also focussing on areas including visual communications, fine arts, film/tv/audio, performing arts, design, photography, built environment and business creatives.

So far, the company has partnered with institutions such as Vancouver Film School, the Academy of Art in San Francisco and the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

Providel said the next step for the business is global recruitment tours that take inspiration from festivals.

We’re going to redesign the way that people do recruitment… We’re going to have a loft area with student work, with music, with a festival kind of environment,” he added.
