Malvern House opens in Ireland and Oman

London-based Malvern House, part of AEC Education Plc (based in Singapore), has announced international expansion in 2012 with centres opening in Ireland and Oman. Meanwhile, Malvern House London is repositioning itself, with upgraded facilities, reduced class sizes, new programmes and a new price structure.

The Middle East also represents an exciting growth region for the company

Malvern House Dublin will open on 5 March on Dame Street in central Dublin close to Trinity College, Temple Bar and Grafton Street. Will Dowling is the new General Manager of the school.

The new school is located in central Dublin

“The launch of Malvern House Dublin is an exciting development for both Malvern House and AEC Education,” he said. “Students who come to Dublin will benefit not only from the academic experience of Malvern House but will experience one of Europe’s friendliest and most vibrant cities.”

The Middle East also represents an exciting growth region for the company, said Luke Simmons, General Manager at Malvern House London, and Malvern House Oman in Muscat will also open its doors in 2012 at an as-yet unspecified date.

Malvern House centres in London have been significantly upgraded and the Piccadilly Circus centre now boasts state-of-the-art technology to match the centre in Kings Cross, with interactive whiteboards in all classrooms. Online resources enable students to access content used during class remotely.

Simmons explained that a “unique e-reception” also reduces waiting times for welfare support, “and the AV queuing system allows students to relax in the new student lounge while waiting to speak to a receptionist”.

The courses have been amended to reflect the “changing needs” of its students

The courses have been amended to reflect the “changing needs” of its students, he said. New courses include Business English Projects and the London Language Experience.

Malvern House is owned by AEC Education, which late last year issued a dampened profits warning, although it acknowledeged that it had significantly invested in its Malvern House brand and rebranded existing businesses in Singapore and Malaysia.
