“The establishment of a pathway college is a natural and important next step in our global strategy"

The two parties have entered into a 10-year partnership, with Kaplan starting to enrol international students into the college from January of next year.

The pathway provider will also support the university in recruiting international students for its existing foundation programmes from this September.

“We will make it possible for students from around the world to gain access to a world class university education”

The college itself will offer courses in specialist subjects, as well as teaching study skills and English language courses.

“Our Global Strategy 2020 embeds internationalisation in all we do to provide opportunities for international partnerships and networks which support our educational programmes and research,” said Hai-Sui Yu, pro-vice chancellor, global engagement, at the University of Nottingham.

“The establishment of a pathway college to prepare international students for university study here in Nottingham is a natural and important next step in our global strategy.”

The college will be offering two foundation programme in business, law and social sciences, and in science. It will also offer a pre-master’s course in business, law and social sciences and another in science and engineering.

“The prospect of working with such a prestigious university, with as impressive a global reputation as Nottingham is very exciting and a perfect complement to Kaplan’s existing pathway colleges in the UK,” said Linda Cowan, managing director of KIC.

“Together, we will make it possible for students from around the world to gain access to a world class university education.”
