ILSC signs new partnership with US university

ILSC Education Group has announced its first partnership with a US university, which aims to increase international student enrolment and support students on campus. The deal, part of ILSC’s GlobalFoundations venture, will offer students first-year classes that include cultural immersion and English language education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The university's top ranking, location, and traditional courses like liberal arts will attract international students

Lesley University president Jeff A. Weiss saw positives for both student and the university.

“Our partnership with GlobalFoundations will enhance our recruitment, outreach, and support of international students.

“Our joint program ensures international students can get language support while making progress towards their degrees”

“At Lesley, we provide a unique blend of excellent teaching, scholarship, and applied practice to developing students of all ages and backgrounds to become leaders in their fields who effect social change.”

He added that international students had always contributed intellectually and culturally to the university’s community.

“The critical interchange among students from around the world adds to the perspectives our students develop, shapes the work they do, and extends the reach of their impact.”

Lesley prepares students for careers as teachers, counselors, artists and entrepreneurs. The university ensures that students gain professional experience through internships matched to their area of study. Something ILSC GlobalFoundations managing director Rick Rattray is also enthusiastic about.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to share Lesley’s strengths with an international audience.”

He added that the university’s top USNWR national ranking, Cambridge location, and traditional courses like business and liberal arts will attract international students.

“Our joint international program ensures international students can get language and cultural support while they make progress towards their degrees.

“GlobalFoundations was founded in 2016 to improve the flexibility offered by third party pathway partners to universities. Lesley is our first partnership, but we have more in the works,” he told The PIE News.

Dean Williams, director of recruiting at GlobalFoundations said the company will benefit from the extensive experience and relationships that its parent company, ILSC, has created over the past 25 years.

GlobalFoundations recruit students from across the globe, who meet the academic and English requirements of its partner institutions.

“Once students complete the program they will continue onto year 2 of their undergraduate or graduate degree,” Williams added.
