International House (IH) will now move into ICD’s facilities in Dublin city centre. Its 4,000 students annually will be given the option of extending their studies at ICD, which delivers accredited degree and professional courses. ICD is reported to be one of the fastest growing private colleges in Ireland.
ICD chief executive, Garret Doyle, said: “This is an excellent fit for both institutions. We see significant synergies and great opportunities to offer a more compelling and wider choice of education programmes to both Irish and international students as a result of this acquisition.”
International House will offer the same programme suite and be managed by its current team, with Larry Finnegan as CEO and Mary Grennan as director of studies.
Finnegan said: “International House Dublin is the leading English as a foreign language school in Ireland with the best teachers, the best facilities, and now the best location in the city.”
International House Dublin has been a member of the International House World Organisation for 13 years and has recently been accredited by EAQUALS. Alongside English language teaching, it offers year-round CELTA and DELTA teacher-training courses accredited by Cambridge ESOL.
