IELS Malta celebrates 30th anniversary

The Institute of English Language Studies Malta, one of the largest English language schools in Malta and Gozo, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a party and international familiarisation trip. The school is also offering a number of discounts to mark the anniversary.

"I would like to thank our partners and agents around the world for their support over the past 30 years"

The school organised an intensive two-day programme last month designed to showcase the best of what the Maltese islands have to offer for the 38 agents visiting from 14 countries.

“I am proud to say that over the past 30 years, IELS has grown its business exponentially”

“We wanted to make sure that the visits to our schools, hotels and residences were well balanced with exciting cultural excursions and mouth-watering dining experiences at renowned restaurants in Malta and Gozo,” Olga Stanichevskaia, Head of Sales & Reservations at IELS, told The PIE News.

And this month the celebrations continued with a lavish gala party at Malta’s Xara Lodge.

Directors and shareholders from the school’s founding companies, Mizzi Organisation and FTI Group, also attended the festivities, along with key stakeholders, business partners, agents, service providers and IELS staff.

The school is also offering discounts on some courses this year to mark the anniversary.

Students on the Conversation English course will receive a €30 discount on the usual peak-season supplement at the Malta centre, while those receiving private tuition or studying on the General, Intensive & Business English course on the island of Gozo will be exempt from high season supplementary fees.

“I am proud to say that over the past 30 years, thanks to our high standards, a dedicated team and the reputation all our schools enjoy worldwide, IELS has grown its business exponentially and I would like to thank our partners and agents around the world for their support over the past 30 years,” commented general manager, Alex Lanczet.

Part of the international group of schools LAL Language Centres, which includes schools in the UK, US and South Africa, IELS has taught more than 200,000 students in Malta and Gozo and currently employs some 150 staff.

  1. Are the teachers native English speakers? I am particularly concerned with accents and am finding it difficult to find schools that employ teachers that are accent free and speak what used to be called BBC English but is no longer as even they employ reporters with very strong regional accents.
