A number of GUS institutions have also signed agreements with overseas institutions

GUS Canada’s three institutions, the Toronto School of Management, University Canada West and the Language Gallery, will be offering the LOVE – Live Our Vision of Education – Canada Scholarship. Winners will be chosen based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.

The creation of the scholarship is a part of a wider development strategy for GUS Canada, according to the company.

“This scholarship will give international students the opportunity to gain industry-relevant qualifications”

Chief academic officer Maurits van Rooijen said the international network of education institutions is committed to ensuring the scholarships are accessible to as many people as possible.

“Canada is a popular destination for higher education, and is an attractive reality for people looking to start a career,” he said.

“This scholarship will give domestic and international students alike the opportunity to gain industry-relevant qualifications for a variety of sectors, bringing them closer to local and global businesses.”

The LOVE Canada Scholarship was announced to commemorate the official opening of TSoM in April.

A number of GUS institutions have signed agreements that CEO Cyndi McLeod says are important steps for the development of GUS Canada.

TSoM has announced an agreement with South China Business School from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, which will explore joint programs in tourism and hospitality, business and language training.

An MoU with LIM College in New York will explore joint programs, articulation and transfer opportunities and collaboration on curriculum.

The Language Gallery Canada signed an agreement with Justo Sierra, an education group with nine campuses in Mexico. McLeod suggested that the partnership will explore further opportunities for degree graduates to enter the UCW MBA program.

“[These agreements] show that our institutions are becoming more and more attractive for prestigious partners,” McLeod added.

“We’ll continue working to grow our network and presence in Canada and beyond, to create more opportunities for our students.”
