Global Experiences joins AIFS via buy-out

GE provides international internship programs in Australia, Europe, Asia, and the Americas

Global Experiences – which marks its 18th year in business this month – has confirmed it will retain its name, its location in Annapolis, Maryland, as well as its management and staff.

Established in 2001, the internship provider offers college students one-on-one “career readiness coaching” and are matched with a customised internship in their chosen fields. It currently has 37 staff in 12 locations, and 8,000 alumni.

Global Experiences is a leader in providing college and university students with career-enhancing international internship programs in Australia, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the US.

Meanwhile, AIFS is one of the oldest and largest cultural exchange organisations in the world with offices in six countries, AIFS organises cultural exchange programs for more than 50,000 participants each year.

“For over 18 years we have changed the lives of thousands of students through our highly customised international internship and study abroad programs,” said Global Experiences CEO and co-founder Emily Merson.

“We are excited to be able to expand access and opportunity for more students in the future through our new role within the family of AIFS organisations.”

William L. Gertz, chairman & CEO of AIFS added that the business is “thrilled” to have Global Experiences as part of the AIFS ‘family’.

“This union will open up more opportunities for college students to enhance their career opportunities by getting real-world experience at a wide variety of companies and organisations,” he added.
