The WIE Awards were created in 2017 by Lead5050 and has a diverse range of awards including ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’ with new categories including the award for ‘Unsung Hero’ increasing the number of leaders to be recognised in 2018.

“By honouring women who are change-makers we will advance our shared mission”

“We’re delighted to link up with GLL, ‘PIEoneer of the Year 2017′! They’re doing fantastic work in their desire to solve significant gender challenges in our industry,” Lead5050 co-founder Maria Castro said in a press release.

During last year’s awards The PIE’s own editorial director Amy Baker was among the winners, picking up the prize for Business Owner/MD of the year.

Both Global Leadership League and Lead5050 share the same ideas and similar vision that the partnership felt natural. The co-founders of both Lead5050 and GLL are excited to bring members together to celebrate the achievements of incredible women in the international education sector.

“The Global Leadership League is thrilled to be co-hosting the Women in International Education awards with Lead5050,” said Cynthia Banks, executive director of the  Global Leadership League.

“By honouring women who are change-makers, visionaries, and innovators and recognising organisations who demonstrate excellence in leadership, we will advance our shared mission to change the landscape of global higher education,”  in a press release.

The night will be filled with celebrating innovations by women but it will also be a night of leadership and development, with powerful business speaker, Orlaith Carmody who encourages everyone to believe in their abilities. She offers key notes on business communications, entrepreneurship and leadership.

The Women International Education Awards will be held on November 3 in central Berlin, Germany.
