Flywire & JCB partner for cross-border payments

Payment solution platform Flywire and Japan’s JCB International have announced a new partnership that will provide international students with a new way to make cross-border tuition payments.

The offering will enable cardholders primarily in Asia to pay tuition with their JCB card at more than 2,000 schools around the globe that offer Flywire for international payments.

“With our goal to provide high-quality service to JCB cardmembers in various markets, Flywire is the perfect partner to satisfy rapidly growing customer needs in tuition payment,” said Hitoshi Shioda, executive vice president, Head of Global Acceptance and Marketing Headquarters of JCBI.

The program will be available first to students paying in Korean won (KRW), Japanese yen (JPY), Vietnamese dong (VND), New Taiwan dollar (TWD), Philippine peso (PHP), Chinese yuan (CNY), Thai baht (THB), Indonesian rupiah (IDR), Russian ruble (RUB), Singapore dollar (SGD), Hong Kong dollar (HKD), and Myanmar Kyat (MMK).

Ryan Frere, vice president of global payments for Flywire added:“We are always pursuing new payment options for our client schools to offer students and their families.

“With JCB, we are activating a very popular payment method in many of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets for international students.

“Schools can offer more convenient, local tuition payment options and JCB can enhance services for many of its 130 million-plus cardholders,” he added.
