New pathway partnership for ELS Canada

L-R: Mike Walkey, Managing Director ELS Canada and Dr. James Ridge, Principal UBC Vantage College

Students who have been accepted onto this English for Academic Purposes course will also be granted a conditional offer at Vantage One at UBC before travelling

This agreement comes after several years of cooperation between ELC and UBC’s Okanagan campus and marks the 17th partner institution for ELS in Canada.

“ELS’ ability to reference external research, which demonstrates ELS student academic success at our partner institutions upon matriculation, provided verifiable performance criteria to the university”

“ELS has always focused on sending well-prepared students through our pathway networks, which helped develop our reputation in the Canadian higher education community,” John Nicholson of ELS told The PIE News.

“We believe ELS’ ability to reference external research, which demonstrates ELS student academic success at our partner institutions upon matriculation, provided verifiable performance criteria to the university.”

Under the agreement students who complete the highest level of the ELS English for Academic Purposes programme automatically pass the language requirements for Vantage One at UBC and will only need to meet the academic criteria.

For added reassurance, students still in their home country who have been accepted onto this English for Academic Purposes course will also be granted a conditional offer at Vantage One at UBC before travelling.

The pathway has proven popular already with students from Southeast Asia, Russia and South America according to the organisation.

ELS currently has over 50 direct-entry pathway partners in the USA, Australia, France, India, Malaysia, and Canada and over 650 universities worldwide accept completion of ELS as proof of English proficiency.
