CES has expanded in Leeds by acquiring Leeds Languages late in 2011. “We believe that Leeds is a hidden gem in the middle of England with untapped potential as a top destination to study and learn English,” commented Jonathan Quinn, Marketing Director at Centre for English Studies (CES), which is headquartered in Dublin.

The city has over 150,000 UK university students, and the city centre has been completely modernised in recent years. “As well as the history and architecture of Leeds, you have some of the most stunning scenery in England on your doorstep,” added Quinn.

The company’s second new location is in the famous university city of Oxford. CES has recently acquired Oxford House School of English, in the charming village of Wheatley, just six kilometres from the city centre.

Oxford House School of English was established in 1983 by Robin & Christine Vernède and is also currently an IALC member school.

Quinn commented, “CES has taken over all of the staff, business and buildings and will be investing in developing and growing the school in the future. We are very proud and honoured that Robin & Christine have handed on the school to myself, Justin, Michael and all of the CES team.”

The school will now be called CES Oxford. “It is a fantastic location,” added Quinn, “with all students able to walk from their homestay to the school. There is a direct bus to the centre of Oxford that runs from behind our school so students can get the best of both worlds!”

Family-owned CES now has five year-round schools in the UK & Ireland located in Dublin, London, Worthing, Leeds & Oxford.
