CEG, Lund partner for ONCAMPUS pathway

Lund University, Sweden.

“Our partnership with ONCAMPUS will further strengthen our position as Sweden’s most international university and allow us to widen participation”

ONCAMPUS Lund Sweden will prepare students for master’s study by equipping them with study and research skills, while allowing students to improve their English before beginning a university course.

“We expect that with the appeal of Sweden as a study location and the reputation of Lund University this will grow to be a substantial European centre”

Students who complete the pre-master’s preparation programme will be eligible to continue their studies at Lund, which offers the widest range of master’s programmes in Scandinavia.

The programme will recruit its first cohort of students for September 2016.

“[We] expect that with the appeal of Sweden as a study location and the reputation of Lund University this will grow to be a substantial European centre for us,” a CEG spokesperson told The PIE News.

CEG identified Sweden as a promising country for expansion due to its quality of education, safety, high standard of living and international environment with high levels of English which make it attractive to students, they added.

Sweden is ranked third in the world for English language proficiency in the EF EPI, and was listed as the second best country in the world for higher education in the Universitas 21 rankings last year.

“Our partnership with ONCAMPUS will further strengthen our position as Sweden’s most international university and allow us to widen participation for academically talented students from across the globe,” commented Lund’s deputy vice chancellor, Eva Wiberg.

Though this is CEG’s first ONCAMPUS centre in Sweden, it joins centres in the Netherlands, the UK and the US, bringing the group’s total number of on-campus pathways to 10 worldwide.

Further expansion is planned, and the partnership shows CEG’s “continued commitment to developing relationships with highly respected Universities in attractive study destinations”, according to the group’s CEO, Fergus Brownlee.
