a2 Fairs seeks strength with new shareholders

Turkey-based student recruitment fair, a2 International Education Fairs, has announced a new triumvirate of shareholders in a move the company says will strengthen its brand and event quality.

Together the agencies of the four stakeholders comprise approximately 40% of the Turkish market

The new shareholders are owners and co-owners of two notable education agencies.

Engin Cosar and Engin Kurtulus are the co-owners of Academix Study Abroad Services and Burhan Pinarbasi is the owner of EgitimAL agency. a2 says their leadership and experience will be a boon for the organisation.

Previous owners Rahmi Mesud Yilmaz and Nazim Ozsoylu, co-owners of ATLAS and Edcon education agencies, will continue as shareholders in the company.

Together the agencies of the four stakeholders comprise approximately 40% of the Turkish market, according to a2.

In a statement a2 said its goal is to “increase the number and quality of the events organised throughout the region with innovative and technological approach”.

Engin Cosar, Academix managing director and co-owner, told The PIE News the new partnership will boost a2’s success.

“Academix, Atlas, Edcon, EğitimAL are very strong and prestigious educational agency brands in Turkey,” Cosar explained.

“We think that combination of experience of a2 fairs and the support of top educational agencies in Turkey will give a boost to the company. We are very well aware of the challenges and realities in the international student recruitment industry,” he noted.

“Our aim is to be the top provider of high-quality, innovative international student recruitment solutions, not only in Turkey but globally.”

Over the past 17 years, a2 has organised fairs in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Ukraine and UK, connecting over 900 institutions from 56 countries with prospective students.
