An innovative new App that installs on a company’s Facebook page and offers an online English language test is being rolled out by technology company, Language Room. The company founder, Will Leader, is convinced this App may be the critical tool that will enable companies working in international education to recruit from the vast audience of potential English language students on Facebook.
The Test Your English App works by allowing students to have their English language level assessed online whilst on a company’s Facebook page. They need to call the school/agency directly to undertake the speaking part of the test.
This, said Leader, is one of the plus points of the technology; students keen to find out their language level get in touch directly. Test your English collects from the student test-taker as a minimum their Name, Email address and an automatic “Like”.

The second selling point, and a genius stroke of the App which understands the viral principles of social media, is that once the test is complete, the Facebook user gets their score posted on their timeline – allowing all their friends to hear about the online English language test.

He explained that Test your English is “plug-and-play” meaning it can be installed on a Facebook page and is working immediately. Questions and answers are customisable, as are language, design and branding.The App can also be tweaked to be completely self-marking.
Leader added that the test also helped generate “Likes” on a company’s page, which was good for general reputation. Explaining his motivation, he said, “Every agency and school I met at trade fairs had a Facebook Page but could not measure how many students they recruited from Facebook. We developed a simple-to-use Facebook App that works for every agent and school.”
